"When training the horse, our emotions become reflections"

~Ryan Lowe

In the beginning a horse does not see the reason, meaning or purpose in what we are asking him to do. Through repetition, patience, and experience, the horse will learn what we want or do not want of him. The goal is to get there as quick and efficient as possible without creating other unwanted behavioral problems. As trainers / barn owners, we are often presented with many tough horses that are deemed stubborn or un-trainable. People always ask for the secret in training that type of horse? There is no secret. Horses respond positively to effective training techniques, Patience, and dedication.
The best horsemen are casual around their horses. Training in a relaxed fashion and with an effective process entails working with the horse, not against him. If you follow this formula, positive results are inevitable. In demonstrations with “difficult” horses, time after time the horses have amazed on-lookers by quickly responding to positive training. In just a matter of an hour changes were accomplished without a bronc-ride or mishap.

The key is to be a patient trainer with effective techniques. If you are not patient, no matter how good your intentions are you might as well be looking west for the sunrise. Like the horse, you must be willing to change and adapt to the situation in order to have a positive effect and remember from good beginnings things tend to come naturally.

Two of my favorite quotes are "You are either training or un-training every time you work with a horse" ~ Sharon Lindsay
and " If your horse says no, you either asked the wrong question, or asked the question wrong" ~ Pat Parelli

If you are looking for help with your horse please contact us to setup a time to discuss some options on getting the results you desire. We only work with horses here onsite to maximize quality time with your horse. Some problems or horses require very short but effective trainings sessions in the beginning of about 15-20min 2-3 times daily and this is best accomplished if they are onsite.
